This was built on part of the Waldo Hayward Farm which was probably Cary land originally. In the middle distance was the box mill (at Jones Pond) and at the far distance was the Simeon Richard house. The house was built by Simeon Richard in place of the Ezra Alden house which Richmond tore down. The school was closed for several years and then opened for a few years for grades 1-4 between 1945 and 1950 after the Allen School fire. It is presently used as a store house.
