This house at 47 Dean Place was the home of Joshua Dean who conducted the iron foundry for several years in the steam works near the railroad station in the Centre Village. (This refers to the "old railroad station". It was later the home of the Thomas Perkins family, (Mrs. Perkins being Joshua Dean's daughter, Jennie) and lately the home of the Harold Sparling family.
