Welcome to the East Bridgewater Public Library's Online History Collection
The digital images found in this online collection were taken from photographs housed in the East Bridgewater Public Library's Historical Room. It is only a small sampling of what we have to offer. We invite you to come by during our regular library hours to see for yourself the breadth of our collection.
The photographs of the Village and Church neighborhood, as well as images of the Elmwood and Beaver areas, are taken from photograph albums available for use in our Historical Room. Our thanks go to library trustee Jim Weidenfeller for digitizing these images in order to make them readily available for all to enjoy online.
Our newest addition to the online collection is Historical Homes, Buildings and Sites in East Bridgewater. The information found here consists of surveys of historic properties conducted by members of the East Bridgewater Historical Commission. These surveys, kept in blue binders in the library's Historical Room, are among the most heavily used items in this collection. They are often a first stop for people researching the history of East Bridgewater properties.
The East Bridgewater Public Library is pleased to be able to make these materials available online through a federal grant from the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) Grants to States Program, administered by the Boston Public Library.
We hope you enjoy browsing through these images, and we welcome any comments you might have about the collection. To leave a comment or to ask a question, please send an e-mail to: Virginia Johnson at vjohnson@sailsinc.org.
