This is the annual field day of the Society at Standish Grove. The exact date isn't known, but it is not September 4, 1909. There is evidence of an earlier date. In the front row, 1, 2 and 3 are Nellie Smith (Mrs. Herbert), Arthur Harris and Freeman Jordan. Second row, 4 and 5 are Cary Mitchell Leonard and Dr. Charles Field. Others are (directly below man with cane, rear left) Miss Bertha Paine; second to the right with a white tie is Judge Robert Orr Harris, center rear is A. Harris Latham. To the right are John Newton, Miss Helen Bird, and Joshua Crane. Partly hidden in the row in front is Sarah Wilbur (no hat), third row from front on right are Mary Wilbur (black dress with white ruffle) who was Sarah's mother and Fannie Shaw to the left.
