West Primary School. This school was built in 1882 to replace an older one which was sold. Land was bought from Stephen Harlow to add to the original lot. This was also called the Block School and was in use until 1950. It was a one story building. Don't be fooled by an optical illusion. The cost of the school was $3,309.47. (2007) The building was later the home of the Frederick Bates American Legion Post and now TJ Smith function hall.
