Hook and Ladder. This shows a pair of roans drawing the Hook and Ladder on Union St. At one time, the horses were stabled at the M.F. Roach barn on Spring St. At the first sound of the fire whistle, young John Kingston used to run the horses over from their stable to the fire station. It has been said that when they got there, they would back themselves into the harness area for the Hook and Ladder.
