These pictures were taken by Lester B. Shaw, son of Samuel Shaw, of Elmwood, a shoe manufacturer. The photographer is shown near the Matfield River with the railroad bridge in the background. The picture dates from the early 1880's. These prints were made through the cooperation of the Old Bridgewater Historical Society from the original pictures which are a part of their larger collection
