The Passport Office at the East Bridgewater Public Library operates by appointment only.

Passport Service Hours

The Passport Office at the East Bridgewater Public Library will be accepting appointments beginning Tuesday, September 8th, 2026.
Our booking calendar will be available starting Tuesday, September 1st, 2026. The library will accept appointments four weeks at a time.

Our current appointment hours are as follows:

  • Tuesdays 12:00pm - 8:00pm
  • Thursdays 9:00am- 4:00pm
  • Select Saturdays 9:00am- 2:00pm

Please note: If you require an appointment for more than 4 persons, two appointment slots will be required.

Your Convenient One-Stop United States Passport Center

Apply for a U.S. Passport Book and/or card in the Passport Acceptance Office located on the second floor of the East Bridgewater Public Library (accessible by stair or elevator).

Passport photos can be taken on-site.

Book, Card, or Both?
  • The Passport Book may be used by U.S. citizens to travel by any means to any international travel destination.
  • The Passport Card may only be used by U.S. citizens to re-enter the United States at land border-crossing and seaports of entry when arriving from Mexico, Canada, the Caribbean, and Bermuda.

Please check travel.state.gov for the specific requirements related to your travel destination. 

Passport Fees

Payments for passport books and cards may only be made by check or money order and payable to the U.S. Department of State. Cash is not accepted.

Passport fees include the following:
  • Adult Passport Book- $130
  • Minor (under age 16) Passport Book- $100
     
  • Adult Passport Card- $30
  • Minor (under age 16) Passport Card- $15
     
  • Expedited Service Fee- $60
  • Overnight Return Delivery (available for Passport Books only)- Check with the Passport Acceptance Agent for the current rate.

Payments by check or money order may be made to the Town of East Bridgewater, per application, for the following:

  • Execution Fee (per application)- $35
  • Passport Photo- $15

Please note: all fees payable to the U.S. Department of State are non-refundable and are retained by the U.S. Department of State whether or not the passport is issued.
The Execution Fee payable to the Town of East Bridgewater is also non-refundable.

Passport Photo Requirements

  • One passport photo is required
  • Photo must be:
    • Whole-face view taken within the last 6 months
    • Color only
    • Size: 2"x 2"
    • Against a light background
    • No hats, head-coverings, or glasses should be worn
      • If you wear one for religious purposes, submit a signed statement that says it is religious attire worn daily in public
      • If you wear one for medical purposes, submit a signed doctor's statement that says you wear it for medical purposes
  • Vending machine photos are not acceptable

Applying for a New U.S. Passport

If you are applying for a new passport and have not previously done so, you will need to present your completed application along with all required documents, in person, to a Passport Acceptance Agent. 

Required Documentation:
  • A completed application for a U.S. Passport (Form DS-11: Application for a U.S. Passport), which may be completed and downloaded online, or obtained at the Town's Passport Acceptance Office.
    Note: Only BLACK ink may be used to complete the application.
    Note: Do not sign your application ahead of time. This must be done in person, with the Acceptance Agent.
  • Proof of U.S. citizenship, which may be established with:
    • a previous U.S. Passport
    • Certified Birth Certificate*
    • Certificate of Citizenship or Naturalization
      Note: Photocopies of these documents are not acceptable. Documents submitted will be returned to you in a separate mailing from your U.S. Passport.
  • Current proof of identity, which may be established with:
    • a current valid driver's license (not temporary or learner permit licenses)
    • Military ID card
    • State ID card

New Applications must be signed in the presence of a Passport Acceptance Agent.
All Applicants, regardless of age, must appear before the Passport Acceptance Agent when filing an application.

*Birth Certificate Requirements:

Certified copies of birth certificates must include the following information to be used as primary evidence of U.S. citizenship for a passport application:

  • Full name of the applicant
  • Date of birth
  • Place of birth
  • Full name of applicant's parents
  • Raised, embossed, or multicolored seal of issuing authority

The date the birth certificate was filed with the registrar's office must be within one year of the date of birth. Birth certificate missing this information are not acceptable as evidence of citizenship.

Renewing Your Current U.S. Passport

U.S. Passport renewals do not require the assistance of a Passport Acceptance Agent. You can renew your U.S. Passport by mail if ALL of the following conditions apply to your current passport:

  • Is submitted with your application
  • Is undamaged (other than normal "wear and tear")
  • Was issued when you were age 16 or older
  • Was issued within the last 15 years
  • Was issued in your current name
    • or you can document your name change with an original or certified copy of your marriage certificate, divorce decree, or court order

U.S. Passport Renewal (Form DS-82) is available online at Travel.State.Gov. U.S. Passport renewal forms are also available at the Passport Acceptance Office. A current passport photo must be attached to all renewal forms.

Passport renewal applications should be mailed to the U.S. Department o State Renewal Processing Center by the applicant along with a check or money order and your current passport.
The Department of State recommends using traceable mail such as Priority Mail.
