Self Defense Workshop for Adults & Teens

Self Defense

The East Bridgewater Public Library has once again partnered with the East Bridgewater Police Department to host a self-defense workshop series for teens and adults. Lessons will teach valuable techniques for defending oneself in a threatening situation. All participants will have the option of participating in a simulation exercise on the last day, which allows them to use the skills they have learned to fight off an attacker.

Any female 12 and older is welcome to attend the class, and no experience is needed.

Disclaimer: This is an RAD (Rape Aggression Defense) workshop. The purpose of this workshop is to teach participants how to be aware of, reduce the risk of, and avoid being the victims of sexual assault or abduction. Some material covered in these classes may be of a sensitive nature.

The entire program will consist of four classes on the following days:
Monday, September 9
Monday, September 23
Monday, September 30
Monday, October 7

All classes will be held at the East Bridgewater Public Library from 5:30-8:00 p.m. It is recommended to wear sneakers and comfortable/athletic clothing.

Registration is required. You only need to register once, for the first session on September 9th, to be enrolled in the series.

Those who wish to participate should make every effort to attend all four classes.

The East Bridgewater Police Department is offering this class free of charge to the community.
